Risk is an area that CFO’s often discuss. Risk mitigation is curtailed with good solid procedures and processes in place. This does not eradicate risk, but certainly can make it palatable. One of the biggest challenges is knowing your risk – ignorance is bliss, till we suffer a loss!
With phishing scams continuously evolving, we want to remind you of best practices to avoid becoming the victim of a phishing scam. Phishing is when someone tries to gather your login credentials or other information by impersonating a person or company you trust.
Phishing emails may contain any of the following:
- Urgent prompts to click links
- Requests that you provide your password or other secure information
- Threats of account suspension or cancellation if action is not taken
If you receive an email like the one described above, or any other suspicious emails, DO NOT RESPOND OR CLICK ANY LINKS. Instead, immediately forward them to the service provider with whom you have an established relationship – use an email address directly from their website or call them.
